Great functionality other than when viewing the sideshow, sometimes wrong answers get marked as being correct (and vice versa)and you cant change it to being incorrect/correct, preventing the card from being presented again for further studying.

I use this on my iPhone for convenience. I assume its much better on the MacBook or iPad, but who wants to do flash cards on their laptop while waiting in line? I love that I can take pictures and make cards out of them, and the features like facets that you just cant do with paper. It is a lot more organized and compact than paper too... I like the study schedule feature and the ability to mark cards as important or missed for a more focused review. iCloud backup is an amazing feature.?That being said, it leaves a lot to be desired. The interface is limited, and cards seem to lock up often. When I download cards from quizlet, I cant reverse the question and answer facets. the photo option is not as advanced as it could be, and the 8MP iPhone pictures are just a bit too much for a flash card. they need to be edited outside first.

Rocked my medical boards almost entirely using mentalcase app! Syncing finally working!! Also, great app on iPhone 6 plus

Do not waste your money.

I only bought this because the Mac version has a section where you type in the answer. thats why I needed it, to make sure Im spelling words correctly. would have been nice to know this version lacked it. misleading. dont waste your money until they get it up to where it should be.

The best way to study for exams. Also great for memorizing anything in life. Good syncing across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Bit of a learning curve but well worth it.

I use this app to study for latin and is very useful through iCloud sync since it is also on my mac. for studying this should be everyones go to app.

I have this on my iPhone, Mac, and iPad… For some reason the iPad app will not iCloud sync at all. Tried everything they listed on their support page. If this gets fixed, 5 stars.

So stoked about this. Flows much better than the last. Can do more with it. Makes learning so much easier!

This app could be amazing. It’s so close. However, there are a few big flaws that just can’t be overlooked. The elephant in the room is iCloud sync. I don’t know whose fault it is, the developers or Apple, but the app crashes every time it tries to sync (both Mac and IOS versions). I’ve tried reseting iCloud sync multiple times, making sure to follow their instructions exactly, to no effect. The next big problem I have with Mental Case is how multiple choice questions/notes are handled during slideshow mode. I make a mixture of traditional flashcard-like notes (e.g. "compare and contrast X and Y” on one card/facet with the answer on the other), and multiple-choice-type notes ("which of the following is most likely to cause X...” on one facet, and then an option-A facet, option-B facet etc etc). If you do a traditional quiz or “presentation" as the app calls it, the question-answer cards work pretty well, showing the prompt and then the answer. However, when a multiple choice card comes up, It shows the prompt, "which of the following is most likely to cause X...”, but not any of the choices. If you advance, it then only shows you the right answer, which kind of defeats the purpose of a multiple choice question. You can set it to multiple choice mode, but then all of the question-answer cards are left out. Can’t I just have one quiz mode that displays both question-answer and multiple-choice cards correctly at the same time? This app is so close. If they could fix the iCloud issue, and make a few small tweak but very important UI tweaks, it would be 5 stars for sure. It’s just not there yet.

I’ve never had it work. not once. crashes constantly. Let’s not even get into the needless complexity of this app, even if one is successful getting through the technical problems.

Neither iCloud nor Dropbox sync works so this $5 app is useless to me.

Unusable. Every time I go into the app it crashes after a few seconds. Happens on the iPhone and iPad. Have reinstalled the app multiple times and it still crashes. I believe its all related to iCloud sync. iCloud sync does not work.

A lot of the capabilities of the desktop app are lost here, like anything beyond plain formatting. Also iCloud sync is super glitchy/wont even sync my library. I have found a way around this by air dropping cards to my phone which is not ideal but works. This also keeps formatting from your computer although some symbols are lost. The gestures also make no sense I dont see why the same Mac trackpad gestures arent kept for the iPhone app, it makes it a lot less intuitive to use. I also wish you could lock the view horizontally This is unfortunate for a paid app.

I use to love using this app but it has become very buggy ever since switching to iOS 8. It constantly crashes when trying to sync with iCloud.

Crashes every time I try to use the app either on my iPhone or iPad. The functionality use is at a zero for me right now (college student). Like the other reviews have said, I believe it is related to the iCloud sync feature (its really really buggy). This has gone on for MONTHS now without any update to fix from the developers. DO NOT buy until you see that they have updated the app, has been a total waste of my money so far.

Just updated this app on all my iphone iPad and Mac and … still doesnt sync notes. Useless as a cross-device application. Independently its ok but dont hold high hopes of seeing this work on your iPhone iPad and Mac cause it will mock you by constantly saying its downloading something and it never shows anything.

Even after the latest update, the item count in the app badge is stuck at 86. I tried turning the badge off—and nothing. Badge is still there on my home screen, mocking me with 86 items, even though I dont have unreviewed items and the badge is supposed to be disabled. Ugh.

The badge icon on Mental Case version 4.6.4 works beautifully on my iPhone 5s while the badge icon on Mental Case 2 version 1.5.3 doesnt work at all!!! MC 4.6.4 appears in Settings under notifications while MC 1.5.3 does not!

This usted to be a great app, until they introduced cloud sync. The sync hasnt worked once, which renders the app useless.
