What direction is this app going in?

The original version of this app was very nice. I liked it so much that I didnt mind the $35 investment...

Then I had to pay again for Mental Case 2, that only really offered iCloud syncing. I didnt really see the value in the additional cost, it felt more like an update than an upgrade, but OK.

Now it appears like with every successive update the app feels less and less well thought out. The presentation was originally well thought out, now it just feels amateurish and buggy. It really is too bad.
